About The Practice

Dr. Libby Badillo started Shoreline Therapy & Consulting, LLC in 2019. Shoreline provides boutique therapy services to children and adolescents struggling with a variety of difficulties, as well as to families and adults struggling with mental health, life adjustment and trauma-related concerns. Libby provides consultation to clients seeking mental performance optimization to reach elite athletic or entrepreneurial goals. She offers clinical supervision to aspiring clinicians in pursuit of their social work licensure, as well as play therapy supervision to clinicians interested in furthering their practice through use of play therapy. The practice contracts with other clinicians to augment service provision.

Libby Badillo, DSW, LCSW, RPT-S

A graduate of Vanderbilt University (BA, 1998), Boston University (MSW, 2000), and the University of Tennessee (DSW, 2021), Dr. Libby Badillo started her career working with children involved in the child welfare system and their foster families. Over the past twenty years, Libby has honed her practice through a variety of clinical experiences working with children, adolescents and adults suffering from the aftermath of trauma, as well as children and adolescents experiencing a variety of life adjustment and mental health concerns. Her treatment of children and adolescents has focused on PTSD, acute trauma, generalized anxiety, OCD, depression and ADHD. Libby has also worked with adults through trauma recovery, specifically sexual assault, parenting concerns, and mental health struggles such as anxiety, OCD, phobias and depression.

Although she has been previously licensed in Ohio and Tennessee, Libby is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida. Libby is also a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor through the Association for Play Therapy. Libby has earned EMDR certification, as well as NMT Training Certification through the Phase I level. Along with her extensive play therapy training, she has specific training in the use of sand play, Theraplay activities and TF-CBT. Libby is passionate about continuing her own clinical education and continues to pursue knowledge of emerging practices to further her ability to reach a diverse range of client needs.

In addition to working with clients, Libby enjoys teaching, supervising, and consulting. Prior to starting her private practice, she has held positions of leadership in non-profit organizations. She has served as an adjunct professor for several colleges and universities.
